How does the PSA oxygen generation process work?
Our Pressure Swing Adsorption Technology (PSA) oxygen generation systems generate oxygen by filtering ambient air. The air is generally composed of 20.9% oxygen and 78% nitrogen, along with a small percentage of inert gases; this process is carried out through tanks containing a molecular sieve called zeolite.
The nitrogen molecules are adsorbed by the sieve material, while the oxygen molecules pass freely and are collected in a receiver tank. The oxygen is supplied at a constant pressure and the nitrogen is expelled into the ambient air, this process is repeated in another molecular sieve chamber; ensuring continuous production of the gas.
